What you get

Named by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Amar Fasal Amar Gola ("My Crop, My Storehouse") is a state pilot project providing financial assistance to marginal farmers in West Bengal so they can build their own small on-farm storehouses. By giving farmers a place to store produce safely after harvest, the scheme reduces distress sales immediately at harvest time (when prices are typically lowest due to glut) and cuts post-harvest spoilage losses, especially for grains and non-perishable produce. The scheme works alongside its companion programme Amar Fasal Amar Gari ("My Crop, My Vehicle"), which gives a flat Rs 10,000 subsidy to help farmers acquire a vending cart/vehicle for directly transporting and selling produce to end consumers, bypassing middlemen.
