What you get
MIDH supports holistic growth of horticulture covering fruits, vegetables, root and tuber crops, mushrooms, spices, flowers, aromatic plants, coconut, cashew, cocoa and bamboo. Because Nagaland is a North-Eastern/Himalayan state, the Government of India funds 100% of MIDH costs here (versus 60% elsewhere), making it especially generous for local horticulture farmers. Assistance covers planting material and nursery development, area expansion under high-value horticulture crops, protected cultivation (poly-houses, shade nets), integrated post-harvest management, and cold-chain/storage infrastructure. The scheme has driven a marked increase in horticultural production in Nagaland since its inception (originally as HMNEH).
