What you get
Under the Kudumbashree Mission, groups of 4-5 women form a Joint Liability Group (JLG) to take up group farming — often on leased fallow or unused land — and access collateral-free, near-zero-interest credit under NABARD's JLG framework. Kudumbashree's local Agriculture unit helps mobilise the JLGs, liaises with the Panchayat and Department of Agriculture for convergence with other input/subsidy schemes, and arranges technical training on crop and farm management. The model has given thousands of landless and marginal women farmers, who hold no land title of their own, formal recognition as cultivators and a route into commercial vegetable, paddy and banana group farming.
