Soil Health Card Distribution Programme (Tripura)
Under the national Soil Health Card scheme as implemented in Tripura, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare collects soil samples from farmers' fields and issues a Soil Health Card every two years showing 12 key soil parameters (NPK, micronutrients, pH, organic carbon, etc.) along with crop-wise fertiliser and amendment recommendations. The state's annual plan has targeted distribution of around 40,000 Soil Health Cards in a single planning cycle, delivered through block-level soil testing labs and agriculture extension staff. The aim is to reduce indiscriminate fertiliser use, cut input costs, and improve yields by matching nutrient application to actual soil deficiency.

View schemeAndhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming (APCNF)
APCNF is a large-scale natural farming programme implemented by Rythu Sadhikara Samstha (RySS) on behalf of the state government. It trains farmers, especially through women's self-help groups, in natural farming practices such as multi-cropping, use of farm-made bio-inputs, and soil-health-building techniques that reduce dependence on synthetic fertilisers and pesticides. The programme aims to lower input costs and build long-term resilience, and is implemented in convergence with various central and state schemes rather than through cash transfer alone.
