One District One Product (ODOP) Scheme - Uttar Pradesh

Why it matters

Helps farmers and small producers of each district's signature crop (like mango, potato or litchi) get branding, marketing and export support to earn more from what they already grow.

What you get

Launched on 24 January 2018, the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme assigns each of Uttar Pradesh's 75 districts one (or in some cases two) flagship products for focused promotion, including a number of agricultural and food-processing products such as mango (Lucknow), potato-based products, litchi (Saharanpur/Muzaffarnagar belt), tomato, kinnu, bhujia, petha and pickle. For agricultural ODOP products the scheme provides support through the ODOP Margin Money Scheme (subsidised credit margin support for setting up or expanding processing/storage units) and the ODOP Marketing Development Assistance Scheme (funding for branding, packaging design, participation in trade fairs and buyer-seller meets, and export promotion). The scheme has been credited with significant export growth for UP's agri and craft products and was subsequently scaled up nationally by the central government.

Eligibility criteria

• Farmer, FPO, or micro/small entrepreneur producing or processing the district's notified ODOP product
• Unit/activity located within the assigned ODOP district
• Registration with the District Industries Centre or ODOP nodal office

How to apply

   Identify your district's notified ODOP product on the official ODOP UP portal

   Register your enterprise/FPO with the District Industries Centre

   Apply for margin money support (loan subsidy) for processing/storage infrastructure or marketing development assistance for branding/export promotion

   Participate in ODOP-linked trade fairs, buyer-seller meets and export facilitation events
