What you get
As implemented in Uttarakhand, the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) focuses on expanding irrigated area and improving water-use efficiency through micro-irrigation (drip and sprinkler systems), integration of water sources, and watershed-based water harvesting structures suited to the state's mountain hydrology. Given that a large share of Uttarakhand's cultivated land is rain-fed hill terrace farming with no canal access, the scheme channels subsidy support for farm ponds, small water harvesting structures and micro-irrigation equipment directly to individual farmers and farmer groups through the Agriculture and Watershed departments.
