What you get
The Uttarakhand Polyhouse Yojana provides farmers a subsidy of up to 70% on the cost of constructing polyhouses (protected cultivation structures), recognising the state's strong push into protected/off-season cultivation given its hilly terrain and short growing windows for many crops. Polyhouses let farmers grow vegetables, flowers and nursery plants year-round, command premium off-season prices, and protect crops from hailstorms, frost and erratic hill rainfall. The scheme is implemented through the Horticulture Department and is one of the state's flagship interventions for moving smallholders from low-value field crops into intensive, higher-return horticulture.
