What you get
Uttarakhand has positioned itself as a leading organic-farming state and provides farmers comprehensive support to transition to organic and natural cultivation methods under schemes including the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) as implemented in the state. Assistance totals around Rs 31,500 per hectare spread over three years, covering organic inputs, certification (including PGS - Participatory Guarantee System), training and exposure visits, and marketing support such as branding, fairs and exhibition participation; of this, roughly Rs 15,000/ha over 3 years is provided directly via DBT for on-farm/off-farm organic inputs. The state designates land in clusters for crops such as millets, pulses, vegetables, fruits and medicinal plants, organising smallholders into commercially viable production groups via the Uttarakhand Organic Commodity Board.
