What you get
Also known as the Uttarakhand Financial Assistance Scheme for Old Age Farmers, this scheme provides a monthly pension (reported at around Rs 1,200 per month, with some sources citing Rs 1,000) to farmers aged 60 years or above who are still engaged in agricultural activity and hold a maximum of 2 hectares of land. It is targeted at the state's large population of small hill farmers who have limited land and no other organised old-age income support, recognising that Uttarakhand's terraced hill agriculture rarely generates enough surplus for farmers to build retirement savings.
