What you get

The Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare runs a continuous programme of farmer training sessions, on-field crop demonstrations, exposure visits to model farms, and "farm school" sessions where extension officers teach groups of farmers improved package-of-practices for major crops. In a recent annual plan the department targeted over 43,000 farmer participants across these training and demonstration activities. The programme covers topics such as improved seed varieties, integrated pest management, balanced fertiliser use, and post-harvest handling, and is typically delivered free of cost at the block or panchayat level.
