What you get

Tamil Nadu's Farm Mechanization Subsidy Scheme, run by the Agricultural Engineering Department under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization, provides subsidy assistance to individual farmers and Custom Hiring Centres for purchasing agricultural machinery and implements including power tillers, power weeders, chaff cutters, brush cutters, paddy transplanters, tractor-mounted rotavators, cultivators, disc ploughs and laser land levelers. SC/ST small and marginal farmers receive an additional 20% subsidy, while general-category small and marginal farmers get an additional 10% subsidy specifically for power weeders and paddy transplanters. Separately, Custom Hiring Centres set up by rural entrepreneurs, cooperative societies, Self Help Groups, registered farmer societies and Farmer Producer Organisations are eligible for 40% subsidy on establishment costs, expanding shared-machinery access for farmers who cannot afford to buy equipment outright.

Eligibility criteria

• Must be a farmer or eligible group (cooperative/SHG/FPO/registered farmer society) in Tamil Nadu
• SC/ST and small/marginal farmer status required for the enhanced subsidy slabs
• Custom Hiring Centre applicants must be registered entities

How to apply
