What you get

Launched in August 2010, the Sikkim Organic Mission is the flagship policy that made Sikkim India's first 100% organic state by 2015-16, covering roughly 76,169 hectares of certified organic cultivated area and benefiting over 66,227 farming families. The mission provides farmers with training in organic input production (composting, bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides), supplies quality organic seed and planting material, runs Organic Centres of Excellence on converted government farms, and operates the Sikkim State Organic Certification Agency (SSOCA), which certifies farms, farmer groups, processing units and traders to the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) and Participatory Guarantee System (PGS-India) standards at no cost to the smallholder farmer. Certified organic status allows Sikkimese farmers to access premium domestic and export markets and the state-run Sikkim Organic retail outlet network, including one in New Delhi.
