What you get
This free livestock insurance scheme covers accidental or disease-related death of milch animals and small ruminants owned by Rajasthan farmers, at no premium cost to the beneficiary. Coverage is available for up to 2 milch cows, 2 milch buffaloes (or a combination of 1 cow + 1 buffalo), 10 goats, 10 sheep, or 1 camel per household, with the animal required to carry a 12-digit ear tag for identification. Compensation on verified claims is approximately Rs 40,000 for a cow or buffalo and Rs 4,000 per goat/sheep, with the first phase targeting 21 lakh animals statewide on a budget of Rs 400 crore. Preference is given to existing Gopal Credit Card holders and women beneficiaries of the Lakhpati Didi scheme, and registration is done via the Mangla Pashudhan Bima mobile app or e-Mitra kiosks on a first-come-first-served basis.
Eligibility criteria
- Must be a resident livestock keeper of Rajasthan with a Jan-Aadhaar card
- Annual family income should be less than Rs 8 lakh
- Animal must have a valid 12-digit ear tag for registration
- Coverage capped per household (e.g. max 2 cows/buffaloes, 10 goats/sheep, or 1 camel)

In the event of animal death, file a claim within 21 days with photographic/veterinary proof for verification and payout
