What you get
PMFME, implemented in Punjab through Punjab Agro Industries Corporation, supports existing or new micro food-processing enterprises — including those run by farmers processing their own produce into value-added products such as flour, pulses processing, pickles or dairy products — with a credit-linked capital subsidy of 35% of the eligible project cost, up to a maximum of Rs 10 lakh per unit. The scheme also supports common infrastructure (shared processing facilities, cold storage, packaging units) for clusters of micro food enterprises, along with branding, marketing and FSSAI/quality-certification handholding support, helping farmers retain a larger share of value by processing rather than only selling raw produce.
