PEDA Solar Tubewell Subsidy (PM-KUSUM Component-B Top-Up)
Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), Government of Punjab
Why it matters
Replace your diesel irrigation pump with a solar-powered one and pay only a fraction of the cost — Punjab tops up the central solar-pump subsidy so farmers, especially SC farmers, pay even less.

What you get
Under Component-B of the central PM-KUSUM scheme, the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) installs off-grid solar-powered irrigation pumps for farmers in place of diesel pumps. The Government of India funds 30% of the cost and the farmer normally pays the rest, but Punjab tops this up with an additional 30% state subsidy for general-category farmers (60% total) and 50% for Scheduled Caste farmers (80% total), cutting diesel dependence and irrigation running costs sharply. Applications are invited periodically by PEDA for installation of pumps of various capacities matched to the farmer's land and water source.
