What you get

Under the National Livestock Mission's Entrepreneurship Development component, individuals, FPOs, SHGs, Farmer Cooperative Organisations and Joint Liability Groups in Mizoram can avail capital subsidy of up to 50% (subject to category-wise ceilings) for setting up rural livestock units: up to Rs 30 lakh subsidy for piggery, Rs 25 lakh for poultry and Rs 50 lakh for sheep & goat units. The subsidy is back-ended and released after the unit is established and verified, with the balance funded through bank loans. Mizoram beneficiaries, including small entrepreneurs in Aizawl and rural districts, have set up successful piggery units under this scheme, an important income source given high local pork demand.
