What you get
MOVCD-NER is a Central Sector scheme under the National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture, implemented in all eight North-Eastern states including Mizoram. It funds the entire organic value chain — quality seed and planting material, on-farm organic inputs, NPOP-compliant organic certification, Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) formation, post-harvest infrastructure (collection, aggregation, processing units) and brand-building/marketing support. In Mizoram the scheme has supported organic conversion of crops such as ginger, turmeric, areca nut, oil palm and bamboo, which have shown higher economic returns than traditional jhum crops. Clusters of around 1,000 hectares are typically formed under FPOs to achieve scale for certification and marketing.
