What you get

Implemented in Manipur through the Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), this scheme develops certified organic production in a full value-chain mode — linking farmer clusters from input supply and seeds through certification, aggregation, processing, marketing and brand-building. The scheme has registered around 37,500 organic farmers across 37,500 hectares, organised into roughly 1,875 Farmer Interest Groups (FIGs) of 20-25 farmers each, growing crops such as pineapple, Tamenglong orange, Kachai lemon, passion fruit, kiwi fruit, king chilli, ginger, turmeric, Chakhao (black aromatic rice), high-yield paddy varieties and maize. Over 200 farmer training programmes and 15 trainer-training programmes have been conducted under the mission, and the state has launched and registered the "Organic Manipur" brand to help farmers access premium markets for certified organic produce.

Eligibility criteria

• Must be a farmer willing to join a Farmer Interest Group (FIG) of 20-25 members for cluster-based organic certification
• Land must be located in a notified organic cluster area
• Crop grown should be among the notified value-chain crops (pineapple, orange, lemon, passion fruit, kiwi, king chilli, ginger, turmeric, Chakhao, paddy, maize) or otherwise approved

How to apply

   Contact the Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) or local horticulture/agriculture office to join or form a Farmer Interest Group

   Attend mandatory training on organic package of practices and certification requirements

   Undergo the certification process (PGS-India or equivalent) facilitated by MOMA

   Access aggregation, processing and "Organic Manipur" branded market linkage once certified
