What you get
Recognising that Manipur's hilly and terraced terrain limits the use of large tractors, the state Department of Agriculture's farm mechanization scheme focuses on subsidising small and medium farm machinery better suited to local conditions — primarily power tillers, power reapers, power pumps for irrigation, and small hand-held implements. The scheme is implemented partly as a loan-cum-subsidy arrangement, where the farmer takes a bank loan for the equipment cost and the department provides a capital subsidy that reduces the effective repayment burden, easing access to mechanisation for farmers who would otherwise rely entirely on manual or draft-animal labour for land preparation and harvesting.
Eligibility criteria

- Equipment proposed must be suited to the terrain and approved under the scheme's eligible machinery list
