What you get
This scheme promotes beekeeping (apiculture) among farmers and rural unemployed youth in Himachal Pradesh as a self-employment and pollination-support activity. It funds the establishment of nucleus apiaries for honeybee breeding, provides bee colonies and hives at subsidised rates, and offers hands-on training to prospective beekeepers. The scheme also improves pollination services for the state's fruit orchards. Approximately 1,500 farmers are currently engaged in beekeeping under related Horticulture Department programmes, collectively maintaining around 83,000 bee colonies.
