What you get

The Directorate of Fisheries, Government of Goa implements the centrally-sponsored Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) within the state, providing subsidy support for activities such as fishing craft and gear, brackish-water and inland aquaculture infrastructure, cold-chain and post-harvest facilities, and welfare measures for fishermen. The scheme is aimed at boosting fish production, improving incomes of fishing and fish-farming households, and strengthening the fisheries value chain in the state.

Eligibility criteria

• Must be a fisherman, fish farmer, or fisheries cooperative member registered in Goa
• Proposed activity (craft/gear/aquaculture infrastructure) must fall under the notified PMMSY component list
• Land or water-body rights documentation required for aquaculture-related components

How to apply

   Apply at the Directorate of Fisheries or your taluka fisheries office with the proposed activity details

   Submit identity, land/water-body, and project cost documents

   Department appraises the proposal and sanctions the eligible subsidy component

   Subsidy is released in instalments linked to project implementation milestones
