Under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization, implemented as part of the broader Chief Minister Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana (CMSGUY) and central SMAM scheme, Assam provides subsidy support for farmers and farmer groups to acquire tractors, power tillers, threshers and other farm equipment. The scheme has included dedicated tractor distribution drives aimed at reducing manual labour dependence and improving the timeliness of farm operations across the state's diverse agro-climatic zones.

Eligibility criteria

• Farmer or farmer group in Assam seeking to acquire farm machinery
• Application through the District Agriculture Office with land/farm details
• Subsidy share and ceiling as notified for the relevant equipment category

How to apply

   Apply at the District Agriculture Office or Krishi Bhavan for the desired machinery

   Get the application verified and approved for the subsidy category

   Pay the farmer-share of cost and receive the machinery at the subsidised rate
