The Kalaignar All-Village Integrated Agricultural Development Programme (KAVIADP) is a state scheme aimed at strengthening rural agricultural infrastructure and crop diversification at the village level across Tamil Nadu. As part of the programme, vegetable seed kits — containing 8 varieties of vegetable seeds per packet — are distributed to farmers at Rs 30 per packet with a 75% government subsidy on the actual cost, encouraging households to take up kitchen-garden and small-scale vegetable cultivation for both nutrition security and supplementary income. The programme also bundles in land-preparation guidance and integrated farm development support delivered through village-level agriculture extension staff.

Eligibility criteria

• Open to farmers and farming households in villages covered under the programme rollout
• Seed kit subsidy available per household per season as per scheme allocation
• No specific land-size restriction for the vegetable seed kit component
