What you get
The Integrated Farming System scheme encourages Tamil Nadu farmers with at least 1 hectare of land to diversify their farm income by combining crop cultivation with complementary enterprises such as apiary (beekeeping) units, vermicompost production, small livestock rearing and other allied activities on the same holding. The scheme provides a 50% subsidy up to a maximum of Rs 60,000 per beneficiary towards setting up these integrated components, helping farmers build multiple, mutually-reinforcing income streams (e.g. bees pollinating crops while producing honey, livestock manure feeding vermicompost units that fertilize the main crop) that reduce risk from single-crop dependence and improve overall farm resilience and profitability.
