What you get
Telangana's Department of Agriculture runs an annual subsidized seed distribution programme supplying certified seed of paddy, pulses, oilseeds and green manure crops such as Dhaincha to farmers ahead of the Vanakalam (Kharif) and Yasangi (Rabi) seasons at subsidy rates of typically 50-65% of market cost. This helps improve the Seed Replacement Rate (SRR) across the state — ensuring farmers use fresh, high-yielding, disease-resistant certified seed rather than recycled grain — and the green manure seed component specifically supports soil-fertility-building practices ahead of the main cropping season. Distribution is coordinated through Agriculture Extension Officers at the mandal level with quotas allocated based on registered cultivable area.
