What you get

MOVCD-NER is a Central Sector Scheme dedicated to the North Eastern states (implemented in Sikkim alongside the state's own organic mission) that supports the full organic value chain — from cluster-based farmer organisation into Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), to certification, post-harvest infrastructure, processing units, branding and marketing — so that organic produce grown in Sikkim can reach premium domestic and export markets at remunerative prices rather than being sold as undifferentiated raw produce. The scheme funds common infrastructure such as collection centres, primary processing units and FPC capital, while providing market linkage support so smallholder organic farmers in Sikkim can collectively bargain for better prices.

Eligibility criteria

• Must be part of a farmer cluster/group eligible for FPC formation under the scheme in Sikkim
• Cluster should be cultivating or transitioning to certified organic production
• Support channeled through registered Farmer Producer Companies/Organisations

How to apply

   Join or help form a farmer cluster towards Farmer Producer Company (FPC) registration with department facilitation

   Apply for organic certification and value-chain infrastructure support through the FPC

   Access common processing/collection infrastructure and marketing linkage support built under the scheme
