What you get

Sikkim has a long-standing tradition of commercial flower cultivation dating to the 1950s with gladiolus, and the state supports floriculture as a high-value livelihood option through technical training, planting material distribution and marketing linkage assistance for growers of Cymbidium orchids, gladiolus, lilies, amaryllis and other ornamental varieties. The Sikkim Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (SIRD&PR) has facilitated credit linkages between flower-growing Self Help Groups and nationalized/regional banks, while the South-West Flowers Grower Cooperative Society supports growers with marketing linkages and flori-technology consultancy, with some Sikkimese growers now exporting cut flowers and bulbs abroad in modest quantities.
