Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) - Odisha Organic Clusters

Gives farmers direct cash support plus certification help to convert to organic farming in clusters, so their produce can be sold under a recognised organic label at a better price.

What you get

PKVY supports cluster-based organic farming nationally, and in Odisha has been implemented since 2017 across organic clusters in 8 districts with regional council SUVIDHA supporting Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) certification of farmer land. Each organic cluster receives financial assistance of Rs 31,500 per hectare spread over 3 years: Rs 15,000/ha is transferred directly to farmers via DBT for on-farm and off-farm organic inputs (compost, bio-fertilizer, bio-pesticide), Rs 4,500/ha supports marketing, packaging, branding and value-addition, and Rs 3,000/ha funds PGS certification and residue analysis testing. The scheme provides end-to-end support from production through processing, certification and market linkage so Odisha farmers can sell certified organic produce at a price premium.

Eligibility criteria

• Farmer organised into a notified PKVY organic cluster in Odisha
• Willingness to convert to and maintain certified organic practices for the certification period
• Participation in Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) group certification

How to apply

   Join a PKVY organic cluster formed by the District Agriculture Office or implementing agency

   Receive phased DBT support for inputs, marketing and certification over 3 years
