What you get
FOCUS 2.0 (Fostering Climate-Resilient Upland Farming Systems, Phase 2) is backed by a US$45.78 million agreement signed in April 2026 between the Government of India and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), expanding climate-resilient upland farming interventions across all 11 districts of Mizoram. It targets roughly 150,000 people between 2026 and 2032, helping households transition from subsistence shifting (jhum) cultivation toward market-linked, income-oriented agriculture. Components include climate-smart agronomic training, improved seed/planting material, water-harvesting and soil-conservation structures, and linkages to value chains and markets for upland crops.
