What you get

The ARYA project is implemented in Manipur to make agriculture and allied activities more attractive and economically rewarding for rural youth, addressing the trend of young people migrating away from farming. The project, delivered through agricultural universities and Krishi Vigyan Kendras in coordination with the state Department of Agriculture, identifies high-potential, low-investment enterprises (such as protected cultivation, mushroom production, vermicompost units, dairy/poultry micro-enterprises, and value-added food processing) suited to local conditions, and provides hands-on skill training, startup handholding, and limited seed capital or equipment support to youth willing to take up these enterprises in their home villages.

Eligibility criteria

  • Must be a rural youth (typically 18-35 years) from a farm household in Manipur
  • Must be willing to take up an agriculture or allied enterprise identified under the project
