What you get

Kerala operates a long-standing paddy procurement support system in which the state government supplements the central Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy with an additional state incentive bonus, recognising the state's small but ecologically and food-security-critical paddy belt in districts such as Alappuzha, Palakkad, Kottayam, Thrissur and Kuttanad. Paddy is procured at the village/block level through Padasekhara Samithis (paddy field collectives) and the state civil supplies arrangement (Supplyco), with farmers organised to deliver produce at a single collection point per Padasekhara Samithi rather than relying on scattered farm-gate pickup. The scheme is central to sustaining paddy cultivation in a state where rice farming would otherwise be commercially unviable against the high cost of land and labour.

Eligibility criteria

• Paddy farmer cultivating land within an organised Padasekhara Samithi (paddy field collective) in Kerala
• Farmer must register their paddy area with the local Krishi Bhavan/Padasekhara Samithi ahead of the harvest season
• Procurement subject to quality/moisture norms set by Supplyco

How to apply
