What you get
Jal Nidhi is a water-security sub-scheme focused on deepening and renovating village ponds (used for irrigation and fisheries) and funding deep boring/borewell construction to improve groundwater-based irrigation access for farmers in Jharkhand's drought-prone plateau regions. The 2025-26 state budget allocated ₹203.40 crore to the scheme, recognising water availability as one of the biggest constraints to farm productivity in the state's rain-fed agriculture belt.
