Announced in the Haryana Budget 2026-27 with an outlay of Rs 10 crore, this scheme supports farmers in establishing modern dairy farms housing up to 100 animals, helping move dairy farming in the state from small backyard herds towards more organised, productivity-focused units. The scheme is implemented alongside expansion of milk booths and Vita-brand milk bars, with a 20% reservation for women from self-help groups, strengthening market linkages for the additional milk produced.

Eligibility criteria

  • Must be a dairy farmer or aspiring dairy entrepreneur in Haryana proposing a modern dairy unit of up to 100 animals
  • Must meet the department's notified technical and financial-contribution criteria for the dairy-farm project
  • Women from registered Self-Help Groups are eligible for the reserved milk-booth/milk-bar linkage component

How to apply

    Apply at the district Animal Husbandry and Dairying office with a dairy farm project proposal

    Submit land, identity, and project cost details for appraisal

    Department appraises the project and sanctions eligible financial support

    On establishment of the unit, link with Vita milk procurement/booth network for assured market access
