What you get
The Intensive Fisheries Development Programme supports the creation of additional water area through new pond excavation or renovation of community land/water bodies for fish culture, and provides ongoing technical assistance to fish farmers to sustain productive fish culture in ponds and micro-watersheds. The programme also supports financial assistance for shallow and deep tubewells and aerators that improve water quality and oxygenation in fish ponds, helping diversify farm income through aquaculture.
Eligibility criteria
- Must be a farmer or fish-farming household with access to land/water suitable for pond development in Haryana
- Proposed pond/water-area development must be technically assessed and approved by the Fisheries Department
- Use of the developed water area must be for fish culture as per programme norms

Apply at the district Fisheries Department office with land/water-body details

Department technical staff assess the site for pond excavation/renovation feasibility
