What you get

Chhattisgarh procures a wide range of Minor Forest Produce (MFP) — around four dozen items including tendu leaves, mahua flowers, sal seed, and other non-timber forest produce — at a state-fixed Minimum Support Price through its forest-produce cooperative network. This protects gatherer households, most of whom are tribal, from price exploitation by middlemen and provides a transparent procurement and payment system, with some produce further processed and marketed under organic/cooperative branding.

Eligibility criteria

  • Must be a registered forest-produce gatherer (typically tribal/forest-dwelling household)
  • Produce must be one of the notified MFP items under the MSP list
  • Sale must be made through the designated cooperative/Lamps society collection centre

How to apply

  1. 1

Register as an MFP gatherer with your local Large-sized Adivasi Multi-Purpose Society (LAMPS) or collection centre

  2. 2

Collect and bring eligible forest produce to the designated purchase centre during the notified season

  3. 3

Produce is weighed, graded, and purchased at the fixed MSP rate

  4. 4

Payment is made in cash or via bank transfer at the time of, or shortly after, procurement

Documents required

  • Aadhaar card
  • Tribal/forest-dweller identity proof or gatherer registration card
  • Bank passbook (for DBT payment)
