What you get
Under this state initiative, Chhattisgarh provides free electricity supply for agricultural irrigation pump connections up to a notified capacity (commonly up to 5 HP) for registered farmer connections. The benefit substantially reduces the recurring cost of irrigation, particularly helping small and marginal farmers who rely on electric pumps for groundwater-based irrigation during dry spells and the rabi season.
Eligibility criteria
- Must hold a registered agricultural electricity connection in Chhattisgarh
- Pump capacity must be within the notified limit for the free-power benefit
- Connection must be in the name of the farmer or recognised land user
How to apply
- 1
Apply for or regularise your agricultural pump electricity connection at the local power distribution office

- 4
No separate application needed each season — benefit applies automatically to eligible connections
