YSR Bima (Rythu Bima) - Farmer Life Insurance Scheme

Why it matters

Gives the family of a farmer who dies — from any cause, including natural death — a lump-sum payment to help them cope financially.

What you get

Under this scheme the Andhra Pradesh government pays the life insurance premium on behalf of enrolled farmers (typically aligned with the central Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana group cover), so that in the unfortunate event of the farmer's death — whether due to illness, accident or natural causes — the nominated family member receives a lump-sum insurance payout. This is intended to provide a basic financial safety net for farming households against the loss of the primary earner.

Eligibility criteria

• Farmer family registered with land records / RBK in Andhra Pradesh, generally within a notified age band
• Bank account in the farmer's name for premium auto-debit/government payment
• Nominee details registered at the time of enrollment

How to apply

   Enroll through your RBK or bank branch when the scheme cycle opens

   Provide Aadhaar, bank and nominee details

   In case of death, the nominee files a claim with the bank/insurer along with the death certificate
