KYC Policy
Last updated: May 26, 2026
AGRIBOZ is committed to building a trustworthy, fraud-free agricultural platform. Our KYC (Know Your Customer) process ensures that every verified earner, trainer, and host is who they say they are — protecting the entire AGRIBOZ community.
1. Why KYC is Required
KYC verification serves several critical purposes on the AGRIBOZ platform:
- Platform trust and safety: Ensuring every trainer, host, and earner is a verified, real individual or entity prevents fraud and protects learners, buyers, and guests.
- Anti-fraud compliance: KYC helps detect and prevent identity fraud, fake listings, and misuse of payout systems.
- Payout compliance: Indian law and Razorpay payment gateway requirements mandate identity verification before disbursing earnings to trainers, retreat hosts, affiliates, and family farmers.
- India-only earning restriction: Paid earning roles (trainer, retreat host, affiliate, family farmer) are restricted to verified Indian residents. KYC confirms Indian residency and identity.
- Income tax compliance: TDS deductions and Form 26AS credits require accurate PAN information for earners above applicable thresholds.
2. Who Needs to Complete KYC
KYC is mandatory for all earning roles on AGRIBOZ. The requirements vary by role:
Trainers
- Aadhaar card (for identity and Indian residency verification)
- PAN card (for tax compliance and payout processing)
- Indian bank account details (for payout disbursement)
- Professional credential or relevant qualification (optional but recommended for listing credibility)
Affiliates
- PAN card (mandatory for TDS compliance on commissions above ₹30,000/year)
- Indian bank account details (account number and IFSC code)
- Aadhaar card (for identity verification, required for payouts above applicable thresholds)
Family Farmers
- Aadhaar card (for identity and Indian residency verification)
- Land ownership or lease records (Khasra/Khatoni, patta, or equivalent state land document)
- PAN card (for payout compliance)
- Indian bank account details (for direct produce sale proceeds)
Retreat Hosts
- Aadhaar card (for identity and Indian residency verification)
- Property documents (ownership deed, lease agreement, or equivalent proof of lawful occupancy)
- PAN card (for tax compliance)
- Indian bank account details (for retreat payout disbursement)
- Any applicable tourism or hospitality registration (where required by state law)
3. Learners and Buyers — KYC Optional
Learners who book workshops or retreats and buyers who purchase farm produce through AGRIBOZ do not require KYC. Basic account registration (name, email, phone number) is sufficient to access the platform as a learner or buyer.
Learners may voluntarily provide additional details to participate in government scheme matching or eligibility scoring, but this is optional and not classified as mandatory KYC.
4. How Documents are Collected
KYC documents are submitted through the secure AGRIBOZ dashboard after account creation. The submission process is:
- Log in to your AGRIBOZ account
- Navigate to Dashboard → Profile → KYC Verification
- Upload clear, legible copies of the required documents in JPG, PNG, or PDF format
- Submit for review — our team reviews submissions within 2–5 business days
- You will receive an email notification once your KYC is approved or if additional information is needed
Documents must be current, legible, and unaltered. Submitting fraudulent documents is a violation of our Terms of Service and may result in permanent account suspension and legal action.
5. How Documents are Stored and Protected
- Encrypted storage: All KYC documents are stored using industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Documents are not stored in publicly accessible locations.
- Access controls: Only authorised AGRIBOZ compliance personnel have access to KYC documents. Trainers, retreat hosts, affiliates, and other platform users cannot access each other's KYC documents.
- No third-party sharing: KYC documents are not shared with, sold to, or disclosed to any third party except as required by applicable Indian law (e.g., a court order, regulatory request, or statutory audit).
- Payment processor compliance: Minimum necessary information is shared with Razorpay solely for payout processing as required by their merchant agreement and RBI guidelines.
6. KYC Review and Rejection
Our team reviews each submission carefully. We may reject a KYC submission if:
- Documents are illegible, expired, or incomplete
- The identity cannot be verified against the submitted documents
- There are signs of document alteration or fraud
- The submitted documents do not match the role requirements
Right to appeal: If your KYC submission is rejected, you have the right to appeal within 14 days of receiving the rejection notice. To appeal, email agriboz21@gmail.com with your account details, the reason for appeal, and any corrected or additional documents. We will respond to appeals within 5 business days.
7. Data Retention
KYC documents and verification records are retained in accordance with the requirements of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable Indian financial regulations. Specifically:
- KYC records are retained for a minimum of 5 years from the date of last transaction or account closure, whichever is later.
- Financial transaction records (including payout records linked to KYC) are retained for 8 years as required under Indian accounting and tax laws.
- Upon account deletion, your KYC documents are anonymised and retained only to the extent required by law; they are not used for any commercial purpose.
8. Changes to KYC Requirements
AGRIBOZ may update KYC requirements from time to time in response to changes in applicable law, payment processor requirements, or platform policy. Existing verified users will be notified by email at least 30 days before any new mandatory document requirement takes effect.
