Implementing agency: NABARD Consultancy Services (NABCONS) / State Agriculture Departments / Incubation Centres

Key Benefit

Up to Rs.25.0 lakh

About this Scheme

In 2018, a major redesign launched RKVY-RAFTAAR, with new emphasis on agri-entrepreneurship and innovation. The redesign allocated 20% of RKVY funds specifically for agri-startups and agri-entrepreneurs, recognising that technology-led entrepreneurship is essential for transforming Indian agriculture. 24 RKVY-RAFTAAR Agribusiness Incubation (R-ABI) centres were set up across agricultural universities.

To incentivise agri-entrepreneurs and startups with seed funding, mentorship, and infrastructure support through an incubation network, developing a self-sustaining agri-startup ecosystem that solves real problems faced by farmers.

What You Get

Seed funding: Up to ₹5 lakh (non-refundable grant) + ₹20 lakh loan at subsidised rates through incubation. Venture fund: Up to ₹25 lakh (non-refundable equity-like grant) + ₹2 crore venture debt. Free incubation for 6–12 months at R-ABI centres (shared lab space, mentorship, legal support, market linkage).

Important before applying

RKVY-RAFTAAR is for agri-entrepreneurs and innovators — farmers who want to build a business around agriculture. The selection process is competitive — you need a clearly articulated problem statement, a viable business model, and ideally some proof of concept.
